Julia Gukova


Julia Gukova was born in Moscow. Graduated from Krasnopresnenskaya Visual Arts School (Vitaly Komar’s class).
Studied painting and graphics. With Alice Poret (Pavel Filonov’s disciple), Nikolay Popov, Sofia Gannushkina.
In 1984 graduated from the Moscow State University of Printing Arts under Vladimir Ryvchin, Dmitry Bisti, Andrey Vasnetsov.
Her graduation work – illustrations to Shakespeare's The Midsummer Night Dream – was published by Arkady Troyanker at Kniga Publishing House.
Attended a famous russian book designer Mikhail Anikst’s classes.
Julia Gukova illustrated over forty books in Russia and abroad.
Works as an illustrator for various russian and international magazines.
As an artist she participated in fiture and animation film projects and computer games.
Miss Gukova is a pecepient of many national and international awards and prizes for her graphic works.
Member of Graphic Section of the Union of Moscow Artists.
Member of International Association of Plastic Arts, UNESCO.
Also works as an easel painting artist.
Her works can be found in private collections in Russia, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, Canada, Germany, Japan
Since 1984 has permanently taken part in All-Union, Republican and Moscow book exhibitions. Participated in more than 30 exhibibtions. Took part in exhibitions held abroad as well as in the most prestigious international competitions.
